It was announced on March 7 that "Sakura Miku" will be the official support character for "Hirosaki Sakura Festival 2019".

The festival is held in Hirosaki Park (Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture) from April 20th to May 6th. The park is known as one of the most famous cherry blossom spots in Japan, with 52 species and 2,600 cherry trees blooming on a vast site of approximately 490,000 square meters.

Sakura Miku is a character derived from the popular character "Hatsune Miku". Hatsune Miku is a female virtual idol compatible with the voice synthesis system "VOCALOID" released by Krypton Future Media (Sapporo, Hokkaido) in 2007, and has been collaborating in various fields. Hatsune Miku's live performance, which is expressed in stereoscopic images, has become popular because of the world tour. This is the first collaboration between Sakura Miku and the local government.

Illustrator iXima's Sakura Miku will be the main visual, and she will be standing on a raft against the backdrop of the blooming Hirosaki castle. In addition, four illustrators will prepare Sakura Miku's illustrations.

In addition to the PR signboard that will be set up in late March at Hirosaki Station's free passage center exit, the illustration of the character will be posted on the tourist stamp rally that presents the original picture postcard and the official poster of the festival. In addition to decorating the cover of Hirosaki's public relations magazine "Hirosaki," which will be issued on April 1, the company will announce the sale of character goods and the development of collaboration products with local companies.

In response to this announcement, on the internet, "I have to go to Hirosaki... Where can I go because I have only 1830 kilometers in Hirosaki?" "Sakura Miku-san, I have no choice but to go to Hirosaki." There were many voices of users who were interested in Hirosaki, such as (above).

On the other hand, in a sudden announcement locally, women in their 30s said, "I can't do anything, but I'm sick (I'm throbbing with the Tsugaru dialect)," and men in my 20s said, "A big incident. I just have fun." A voice was heard. Hatsune Miku's merchandise in the store, “Mikuunike” (former carpenter town), Noritsugu Mikuni, said, “The snow Miku of Sapporo in winter and the cherry blossom Miku of Hirosaki in spring will continue to become established as Hatsune Miku in the spring, summer, and fall. I'm glad if you get it."

Collaborative planning will continue until the "100th Hirosaki Sakura Festival" held in 2020.
