    The Hirosaki Castle Snow Lantern Festival was held on February 8th in Hirosaki Park (Shimohiragincho, Hirosaki City).

    This is the 43rd snow festival held by Hirosaki citizens. About 200 lanterns and snow statues made by the citizens are lined up in the park, and every year, the JGSDF Hirosaki garrison collaborators produce large snow statues of historical buildings. This year's theme was the former Hirosaki City Hall, which was created in the first year of Heisei.

    It was in 2014 that projection mapping began to be projected on heavy snow images. Citizen's group "Paya Paya Boratori" (Paya Rabo) is in charge of the collaboration with the manga "Flying Witch" set in Hirosaki, and using the motion capture device, I look forward to it every year.     Kaoru Kasai, who is in charge of projection mapping at the group's representative, said, "This year's content looks like the Heisei era, but the theme is not just watching but enjoying it."

    Inside the free passage of Hirosaki Station, a video attraction by "Payarabo" will be held according to the festival, so that you can enjoy air hockey on the ground of about 3 meters in length and 6 meters in width. Kasai says with a smile, "I made it so that everyone can enjoy it. I'm particular about the image on the ceiling, so I definitely want you to see it." Participation is free. From 16:30 to 21:30.

    The projection time of projection mapping is from 18:00 to 20:30 (5 times in total, 0 and 30 minutes every hour. 19:30 is 11th only). Until February 11th.
