The demon legend that there are demons for a long time and the theme of Minjiro Ichiburi, which is said to be the biggest peasant Ichifumi in the Tsugaru area, was performed on March 23 in the Onizawa district of Hirosaki City on March 23. ..

About 280 people at the first time and about 200 people at the second time visited the gymnasium, which was the venue for the event. The play is an original content that incorporates the legend of Onigami, which has been handed down in the Onizawa area since ancient times, centered around the repentance of Yoshimitsu Tamijiro Fujita, who saved farmers who suffered bad crops and heavy taxes. Hirosaki City's intangible folk cultural property, "Onizawa Lion Dance," is also included everywhere in the play. In the final stage, a tearful voice echoed in the hall.

The performers were selected at the general audition held in November last year. Some of them have experience in theater, but many are inexperienced. The cast was for a wide range of ages from 7 to 78 years old. Chairman Mitsuo Fujita of the “Onizawa no Kai”, who greeted us before the performance, called, “I am surprised that many people come. I would like you to know the wonderfulness of Onizawa and come back to Onizawa”. Seigo Hatazawa, the creator and director of the production, presides over the theater group "Watanabe Genshiro Shoten", which is active in Aomori City. Mr. Hatazawa said, "It makes sense to do an actual historical person in the Onizawa area where he was born."

It is said that there have been demons in the Onizawa area, which is located north of Hirosaki, and many legends remain. A waterway that was built overnight, a ring ring that is said to have taken sumo wrestling, and a large tree that the demon rested on. In Onizawa, demons are considered to be gentle gods, and the Kanji for "oni" at the Oni Shrine in the same area has no horns.

The Tsugaru oldness and the original drama "Oni to Minjiro" are scheduled to perform next year.
