On September 30, in Hirosaki, "Programming course by junior high student programmer Kashi-kun! Scratch that anyone can use from today" was held.

The same lecture by Ms. Soushi Kusakari, who is currently 13 years old and attends a junior high school in the city. Only elementary and junior high school students could attend, and 11 children from the city gathered to learn how to use the visual programming language "Scratch".

Kuskari says that he started studying programming by himself when he was 11 years old when he read a reference book on programming. In February of this year, he also held a course for children in Hachinohe, saying, "I wanted to convey the joy of programming and wanted to try it in Hirosaki."

At the beginning of the 90-minute course, Mr. Kuskari touched that Aomori's PC penetration rate is the lowest in the country, and said that it is important for children to be interested in the program. In the actual programming, we created a program that directs simple movements to the cat illustration, and the children who participated in the program checked each other out.

Mr. Kusakari said that some of the participants were senior students, but he did not hesitate. "It was fun. Teaching may be similar to programming," he said with a smile, "I want to be a programmer in the future. Now I want to make my own computer and games."
