    "Takaoka Forest Hirosaki Clan History Museum" (Takaoka, Hirosaki, TEL 0172-83-3110) will hold "Takaoka Forest Sword Exhibition" on September 29th.

    The exhibition features 27 swords at the Takateru Shrine, which holds the treasures of the Tsugaru family, and 49 other items such as a tsuba and an armor. It will be the first sword exhibition at the same building that opened in April this year.

    The centerpiece is the "Tachi Inoue Seisaku", a nationally designated important cultural property. It is said that Hideyoshi Toyotomi was commanded by Tamanobu Tsugaru, the first lord of the Hirosaki clan, with a sword length of 80.2 cm and a warp of 3.4 cm. Not only the sword but also the sword rack and the sheath of the Raden using the iridescent luster of the shell will be exhibited.
