    On August 28, the Tsugaru Kokeshi Museum (Kuroishi City, Aomori Prefecture) sent an official Twitter message of Kokeshi and memorial text painted by manga artist Momoko Sakura.

    The same building that displays about 4000 traditional kokeshi dolls from 11 nationwide, mainly Tsugaru. On the 27th, we received a report that Sakura-san died, and in the same building, she said, "I pray from the heartfelt heart of Professor Momoko Sakura, who also loved kokeshi dolls."

    The Kokeshi dolls painted by Sakura began to be exhibited in the "Art Kokeshi Collection" section in 2010. Mr. Takuro Yamada of the same building said, “When I was thinking about a new project to collect kokeshi dolls painted by celebrities, Mr. Sakura on the sash of “Kokeshibook” that also sparked the kokeshi boom, Tsugaru Kokeshi craftsmen "The reason was that I had Kanemitsu Abo's kokeshi doll on it."

    According to Mr. Yamada, "Sakura's masterpiece "Chibi Maruko-chan" itself resembles a kokeshi doll, and he himself collected kokeshi dolls. I sent him a kokeshi doll, and as soon as I asked, I immediately agreed."

    The work arrived in about 10 days. Kokeshi dolls look like "Chibi Maruko-chan" and have hair ornaments and bands made of felt and beads. “I was impressed with the commitment to use pink gum tape on the packaging,” says Yamada. "When I thanked Sakura, he said, "It was a pity to let go of it." Sakura sent me a plain kokeshi doll to get it. I don't know if I actually put the picture on it, but I'm sure There should be sister-like dolls."

    Mr. Yamada says, "I can't hide my surprise from Sakura's obituary. I want to continue to carefully display Kokeshi."

    Sakura's Kokeshi will be exhibited in the paid exhibition room on the second floor of the same building. Opening hours are from 9am to 5pm.
