    The "National High School Fashion Design Championship (Fashion Koshien 2018)" was held on August 26 at Hirosaki Civic Center (Shimohiragincho, Hirosaki City).

    This is the 18th National Fashion Design Contest for high school students. There were 3136 entries from 130 prefectures from 36 prefectures, and 35 entries from 32 schools that passed the initial screening faced the final screening in fashion show format.

    This year's winning work is the local porcupine of Hirosaki Jitsugyo High School. Yoshino Ota (3rd year), who was also in charge of design and model, said, “The feathers and needles decorated in black and white represent an elegant but aggressive woman, and the porcupine that sharpens the needle and defends itself I was inspired to see it, and I adjusted the skirt bulge until 3am this morning, and finally I was satisfied."

    The runner up was "Wadaba Machine Sanaru" from Goshogawara Daiichi High School.
