In the Ikarugaseki area of Hirakawa City, Aomori Prefecture, sightings of white crows are currently being talked about among local residents.

Two white crows have been spotted. I have been witnessed on the fields and electric wires around the roadside station "Ikarigaseki" (Igarigaseki Ikariishi, Hirakawa City, Aomori Prefecture). They often act with three black crows, and we could see many local people shooting with cameras and mobile phones.

Shoji Ose, director of NPO "Morino Manabiya" and environmental assessment ecosystem researcher, said, "Albino individuals born with less pigment have red eyes, but (eyes) do not appear red. There is a low probability that two birds will be born at the same time, but if the parent is an albino or white variety, it is more likely to be born."

A man in his 70s living near the roadside station "Ikarigaseki" often sees three black crows looking for food in the morning and evening. "I often see two blacks feeding the other three, because two parents are white and one black because they are parents and children," he said.

Among locals, I have heard "I saw four white crows" (a man in his 40s), "It's a rare case for twin albinos" (a man in his 30s), and "cute" ( Females in their teens), "I hear that white crows have a low survival rate, so I want them to survive for a long time" (male in their 30s).
