    An Ikebana exhibition, “Joint Flower Exhibition-Healing and Peaceful Space”, is currently being held at the Hyakusekicho Exhibition Hall (Hyakusekicho, Hirosaki City).

    This exhibition is organized by Yoshiko Nagatori, who holds a flower arrangement class and a design flower class of Mishoryu for over 20 years. It will be an exhibition only once a year, and will display about 40 works made by Nagatoshi's students.

    Mr. Nagatori started ikebana in his teens and has been living in Hirosaki for over 50 years. Mibu-ryu was founded in Osaka in 1807. There is a technique of making ikebana in the shape of an isosceles right triangle, and not only flowers but also vase and flower stand are used as part of the work.

    At the venue, there will be two booths, one for the undeveloped works and one for the design flower classroom. The design flower classroom is a work that has no fixed pattern and is made with a free idea. There are some works that use a hose as a vase or that is decorated with vegetables.

    “It's a once-a-month lesson, but students get together to have conversations and exchanges. Ikebana leads to a stable mind and health. If the venue is a place where visitors can be given a good experience as well. Nagatoshi says.
