On May 1st, a cafe "Sakurabayashi Saryo" (TEL 050-3557-1155) opened opposite Sakurabayashi Park (Hirosaki City Hyakusawa).

The concept is "a shop where you can enjoy mountain vegetables and coffee in the mountains." “I wanted to go where I wanted to go,” said Kimiko Sakuraba, the store owner.

It was said that Mr. Sakuraba himself picked Fukinotou about 15 years ago and cooked it. "I had never cooked, and I had never thought that I could eat wild vegetables grown in the mountains and forests. I can never forget the delicious taste of Fukinoto," he said. "The same goes for coffee. I was moved by the deliciousness of the coffee I had in the mountains."

While working as a clerical worker, Mr. Sakuraba became absorbed in mountain climbing, outdoor activities, and picking wild vegetables. "I had the idea that I wanted to open a shop when I ate Fukinotou. Finally, my wish came true."

Sakuraba recalls that it took a year to prepare. I could not draw water, so I dug 50 meters underground and found well water. "There was no change in opening a business in Mt. Iwaki. There were people who opposed it and some suggested the city, but as I had imagined from the beginning, I would like you to enjoy coffee and wild vegetable dishes in a location surrounded by nature. I show a smile."

The store area is about 13 tsubos and the number of seats is 13. For the building, we ordered a container house from overseas. “When considering dismantling and resale, container houses are highly convenient. I'm happy if there are more stores with this style on Mt. Iwaki,” says Sakuraba.

The menu includes "Hand-Drop Coffee" (500 yen), "Caferate" (650 yen), Hojicha (600 yen), Matcha (600 yen with sweets). A sweets menu (starting from 600 yen) is also prepared according to the season. During lunch time (11:30 to 14:00), "Sakurabasanchi's lunch" (1200 yen, limited 15 meals) using seasonal wild vegetables is offered.

It is said that he is considering a wild vegetable cooking class. Mr. Sakuraba says, “Mostly self-taught edible wild plants, but I remember the taste of home cooking by my deceased mother. If I can convey the appeal of home cooking and wild plants,” he said.

Business hours are from 10:30 to 18:00. Closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
