    On April 19th, Inakadate Village, Aomori Prefecture announced the theme of rice field art in 2018.

    The theme of this year was to draw the movie "Roman Holiday" at the 1st rice field art venue and the character of cartoonist Osamu Tezuka at the 2nd rice field art venue.

    The rice field art in the village is the 26th time this time, and it has attracted a lot of attention as it is highly appreciated by foreigners due to its finely drawn paintings and high artistry. In the past, in addition to popular movies such as "Shin Godzilla" and "Star Wars: The Force's Awakening," there have also been themes of anime characters such as "Sazae-san" and "Mazinger Z."

    In the "Roman Holiday", Queen Anne played by Audrey Hepburn and Joe Bradley played by Gregory Peck on the 15,000 square meter rice field art, which is divided into two sides across the road, rides on a scooter "Vespa". Draw scenes around Rome and the "mouth of truth" that became the symbol of the movie.

    "Osamu Tezuka character" is Atom from "Astro Boy", Leo from "Jungle the Great", Pinoko and Black Jack from "Black Jack", and "Ribbon Knight" because Mr. Tezuka is celebrating his 90th birthday this year. More sapphire and Tezuka's own illustration will be drawn on the 10,000 square meter venue.

    In the future, the first rice field art venue will have a rice planting experience on June 3, and will be opened from the next day.
