Two female baristas from Aomori will participate in the "Lady Barista Latte Art Cup 2018" held in Shimbashi, Tokyo on March 5.

The tournament will be the Free Poe Latte Art Championship limited to female baristas. This is the third time this event has been held, and from Aomori Maiko Yoshizawa of the book cafe "Lottodo" (Daikanmachi, Hirosaki City, TEL 0172-55-9174) and the Garrett specialty store "Garrettiere da Susino" in the A-factory commercial facility. Marika Osawa of (Yanagawa, Aomori City, TEL 017-735-1155) will participate.

Mr. Yoshizawa has studied latte art by himself since "Lottodo" opened in April 2016. We practiced latte art while being taught by Mr. Shun Chiba, a barista at Angelic Hirosaki store (Noda, Hirosaki City) who has participated in the "Coffee Festate Art Japan Championship".

Mr. Osawa works as a staff member of "Garrettieria da Sasino", but he got into the charm of latte art and practiced repeatedly. He also participated in the tournament last year and lost the first round in the tournament-style tournament.

For the qualifying, the photos of Latte Art were submitted and judged. Mr. Yoshizawa, who said he carefully selected the photographs he had taken, said, "On the day of the announcement that I had dreamed that I had passed the qualifying, I didn't think it would be a true dream. I was excited and couldn't sleep."

On February 22, a latte art practice session was opened at Lot Do and there were nearly 40 visitors. “I am just grateful and happy,” says Yoshizawa. Mr. Osawa says, "The screening is not decided by a coffee profession, but by three women from different industries who decide on the spot. The atmosphere of the open practice is close to the competition, and it was like a practice."

Toward the event, Yoshizawa said, "The two cannot speak the standard language at the Tsugaru dialect. I want to do my best as a "Narimari ballista" so that everyone who comes can laugh and report results." .. Mr. Osawa is enthusiastic, saying, "If you can do it as usual, you will be able to produce results.
