On February 4th, Aomori/Kuroishi, a store specializing in Baumkuchen & coffee "BOCOLABO" (Kuroishi City Yuyokocho, TEL 080-6054-6424) opened.

This is a collaboration between Hirosaki's sweets shop "Bonjour" (Joto Chuo, Hirosaki City) and Aomori's own coffee shop "COFFEE COLORS" (Shinmachi, Aomori City). It opened on the site of the cake specialty store "Laurier" which closed in 2012.

In addition to selling Baumkuchen and Bonjour sweets and roasted coffee beans in the store, you can also have an eat-in space to eat and drink in the store. Bonjour owner chef Koji Seki said, “We aim to achieve synergistic effects by utilizing each other's specialized fields.”

According to Mr. Seki, it was initially planned to open a store along Route 7 that connects Hirosaki and Aomori. "I searched for a vacant tenant but could not find one, so I started thinking about the option of Kuroishi."

Baumkuchen installed a specialized oven in the store and was particular about creating an atmosphere like a factory tour. “I want to give customers a sense of security by showing them what they are making,” says Seki. "Before, we had a factory at the foot of Mt. Iwaki, so we couldn't make a lot of Baumkuchen. By opening as a specialty store, we can expand not only the number but also the variety."

Osamu Ota, the rotor of Colors, is in charge of roasting in the store and provides coffee beans that are particular about freshness. Coffee beans are purchased directly from overseas farms, as well as specialty coffee.

Baumkuchen's lineup includes simple balm natur, "Kometama balm" that uses chicken eggs grown on rice, apple caramel balm, chocolate balm (1,200 yen each, 1 piece for 8 minutes = 150 yen). For coffee beans, in addition to the special blend (100 grams = 650 yen), single origin (100 grams = 630 yen and up) is available. Eat-in menus such as drip coffee (starting from 400 yen) and cafe latte (starting from 500 yen) are also offered.

Mr. Seki said, "It's only been a few days since it opened, but there is demand and I am feeling the response. I want to offer Baumkuchen and limited products with the theme of Kuroishi so that I can take root in Kuroishi." Show motivation.

Business hours are from 10:00 to 17:00. Closed on Thursdays.
