Konan Railway Co., Ltd. (Hirakawa City, Aomori Prefecture) will hold the "Last Chance! Series 6000 Two-Shot Photo Session" on August 23rd.

The "Gen Tokyu Series 6000" is a rare vehicle in which only 5 and 20 cars were produced in a 4-car train. Stainless steel bodies were rare at the time, and equipment such as electric power regenerative brakes and one truck / one motor played a test role. It is also called an "economical car" due to its energy-saving specifications, and it is said that there are fans who come from within Tokyo due to the special running noise.

The company transferred eight of its 20 cars from the Tokyu Corporation in the latter half of the 1980s and operated them until 2006 (Heisei 18), but due to the abolition of rapid trains, they are not currently in operation.

This event will be held because it will not be possible to store it side by side due to the construction of the vehicle inspection station (Kenshujo) attached to Tsugaru Osawa Station. Masashi Nakata, who is in charge of the company, said, "You can only see two-shots of 6000 series in parallel here." "It is a very memorable vehicle for those who used to commute to school at the time. We would like you to take this opportunity to visit Hirosaki and see it in action."

In addition to the "Gen Tokyu 6000 series", the same type "Gen Tokyu 7000 series" was certified by the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers as "Mechanical Heritage" to select machines with historical significance, and was manufactured in 1937 (Showa 12). The single-track Russell car "Ki 105" and the electric locomotive "ED221" manufactured by Baldwin Westinghouse in the United States will also be exhibited. Special commemorative tickets and other benefits will also be prepared for participants.

Apply only for postcards. The deadline is 11th August. Details can be found on the website.
