The Hirosaki Castle Snow Lantern Festival will be held on February 9th in Hirosaki Park (Shimohiragincho, Hirosaki City), and the citizen group "Payapaya Boratori" will perform projection mapping.

At the same festival that is made by Hirosaki citizens, projection mapping is also made by citizens. It was created by Kaoru Kasai, a representative of the citizen group and a company employee. The exhibition is held every year after being presented to the snow lantern with the knowledge gained from self-study. This is the 7th time this year, and last year it was a collaboration project with the animation "Flying Witch".

The projection mapping is characterized by the projection of a building in Hirosaki on a heavy snow image created by the JGSDF Hirosaki garrison personnel. This year, Hirosaki City Hall was 14 meters wide and 9 meters high (2 meters pedestal). The city hall is handled by architect Kunio Maekawa.

The image of about 6 minutes is said to be projection mapping using illusions and illusions. Kasai, who completed the final check on the 8th, said, "This time it was the first projection mapping to the snow image that was made diagonally, and detailed calculation was required. The snow image that was actually produced was a blueprint. There are always differences, so I went through the final adjustments carefully. I want you to see it with your own eyes."

Projection mapping using a motion capture device will be installed at the venue. Kasai says that not only children, but adults can also enjoy it, because the ripples occur in response to the movements of their feet as if they were walking on the water on snow.

Screening time is from 18:00 to 20:30 (6 times in total, 0 and 30 minutes every hour. Collaboration with fireworks at 19:00 on 10th). Until February 12th.
