On February 18th, the "Civil Hall Cocktail Course" will be held at Hirosaki Bunka Center (Shimohiragincho, Hirosaki City).

The same course is taught by Seiya Sato, the owner of the bar "St." (Tsuji, Itayanagi-cho, Kitatsugaru-gun, TEL 0172-72-1673). Mr. Sato says, "Not only telling the history and culture of cocktails, but also making cocktails vital to life."

Mr. Sato is from Itayanagi, and moved to Tokyo to study cocktails. When I was in doubt about becoming a bartender, I accidentally stopped by and was offered the cocktail "Golden Dream". “I felt like my back was pressed to chase after my dreams,” says Sato. Currently, he has participated in the national bartender skill competition for two consecutive years.

This is the third lecture this time. The idea was created by Atsushi Takenami, a youth education instructor at a public hall, who works at a public hall in the Shinwa district next to Itayanagi-cho. According to Mr. Sato, it is rare in Japan to hold a cocktail course as a public hall business because Mr. Takenami was there.

On the day, after sharing the basic techniques of how to taste and make cocktails, you will actually make cocktails. In the past, Sato says that it was impressive to remember the old days with a cocktail made by an elderly person.

Mr. Sato smiles, saying, "I want to teach not only the appeal of cocktails, but also practical things such as how to use extra alcohol."

Holding time is from 15:00 to 18:00. The participation fee is 1,500 yen. Prior application is necessary by telephone (TEL 0172-33-6561) to the central public hall. The application deadline is February 15.
