In the Onizawa district of Aomori and Hirosaki, there is a custom that bean-scattering is not performed in Setsubun.

In the Onizawa area, which is located about 15 minutes by car from the center of Hirosaki, there is a legend that the demons created a waterway and saved the village from a drought.

It is said that demons are celebrated at the Oni Shrine (Irisawa, Irisawa, Hirosaki City) in the same area, and the main shrine in the precincts is decorated with farming tools used by the demons. The kanji for "Oni" without the "No" part is drawn.

Even at "Kohitsu Nursery School" (Naragi Yoda), he taught children that "oni is easy", and he says that he does not go to soybeans. Mr. Takako Yoshida, the director and native of Fukushima, recalls, "When I opened the park, I used to sow beans without knowing Onisawa's customs, but now I don't do so."

A man in his 30s from the same district said, “I have never played bean-scattering when I was a kid. I also talk to my children about the “gentle demon” and try not to sow beans, but if I get hurt, I'm thinking of doing it with the shout of "Onimouchi"."
