The migrant exchange meeting "Yosomono Cafe" will be held on January 18 at Hirosaki's coffee shop "Hachicafe" (Fujishiro, Hirosaki, TEL 0172-35-3873).

The exchange event planned by Tomoko Sato, a store owner from Akita, and Hanako Masuda from Sapporo, who lives in Hirosaki. Mr. Sato says, "Some people move to Hirosaki with a purpose, but in some cases we were forced to move because we moved to work with our spouse or a spouse like us."

Masuda moved to Hirosaki in 2005 due to her husband's transfer. Initially I thought of it as one of the transfer destinations, but gradually I was attracted to the charm of Hirosaki and I bought a home in Hirosaki. "If there is a future transfer, my husband will be transferred," he smiles.

Mr. Sato and Mr. Masuda reveal that "the first two years after moving to Japan were tough." Mr. Sato changed his life when he started going to the coffee class and opened the store. Mr. Masuda says that he started to realize that there is something unique to Hirosaki by deepening interaction with colleagues and participants in workshops.

“People in Tsugaru often say “nothing”, but there are different apple juices for different apple varieties, and there are cafes in the town. In recent years, I have acquired knowledge and techniques. A wide variety of workshops were held to convey this, and there are many things for people from outside the prefecture,” says Masuda.

Mr. Sato says, "Some people who once lived in Hirosaki move to another place and then come back. Hirosaki has that much charm."

On the same day, from 11:00 when the store opens to 17:00 when the store closes, Mr. Masuda will be enrolled and talk freely without deciding the theme. "I want to talk about things that I can relate to because I am from a prefecture outside of Japan that I cannot understand the Tsugaru dialect," says Sato. Masuda says, "It's a great strength to have people with similar circumstances in Hirosaki. Even if someone who leaves Hirosaki someday, those who knew about the charm of Hirosaki could have fun while living there." And call for participation.

Participation is free, but you must order at least one item.
