"Around Iwakiyama Fun Ride" will be held on August 24th to let people know the nature of Aomori and the fun of riding a bicycle.

Mt. Iwaki is an independent peak with an altitude of 1625 meters, and the shape of the foot that stretches gently is similar to Mt. Fuji, and is called "Tsugaru Fuji". Since the mountaintop is divided into three peaks, Mt. Iwaki has various shapes depending on the angle of view, and it is said that people living in Tsugaru have their favorite angles.

Keisuke Ichinohe, the executive committee of the event, is also the executive committee member of "Challenge Hill Climb Iwakiyama", a cycling event where you can ride up the 8th station of Iwakiyama by bicycle. This event was planned not to be a race but to experience the fun of riding a bicycle. "I want to create a new rider by lowering the threshold," he says.

On the day of the event, there is a traffic regulation that overlaps with the traditional Iwaki mountain event, "Osansyo", so we are planning a course to detour around Iwaki Shrine. "By making a detour, it becomes a course where you can enjoy the scenery of the tree tunnel and the apple field next to Iwakiyama General Park." "It may not be possible to enjoy the scenery because there is a difference in elevation, but I would like the participants to enjoy Mt. Iwaki where you can see almost 360 degrees," he said.

The course is 70 kilometers long. Parents and children can also participate, and the "Parent and Child Yayoi Course" is 32 km. The executive committee calls for participants to wear helmets in principle and to wear clothes made of synthetic fibers that easily dry sweat. The support system will be enhanced so that even beginners can enjoy it.

The participation fee is 2,000 yen for adults and 1,000 yen for children. The deadline is August 4th. Apply from "Pomit! Ticket". For inquiries, please contact the same committee (TEL 0172-32-2407) in the Regional Cooperation Department of the Southern Regional Prefectural Bureau.
