The "Winter Blooming Sakura Light Up", which lights up the moat near the Otemon Gate in Hirosaki Park in pink, is currently attracting attention online.

The park is one of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in Japan. A pink light is applied to the snow on the branches of the cherry tree to make it look like a cherry tree. Mr. Ryuichi Yoneyama, who moved from Kanagawa prefecture in 2015 with the activities of the local revitalization team, planned to utilize it as a winter tourism resource.

The fund was funded by crowdfunding, and the target amount was 300,000 yen, which exceeded the target of 300,000 yen. The light-up uses a total of 65 LED lights and illuminates an area of about 300 meters centering on the Otemon gate. Mr. Yoneyama reveals, "I planned from a photo taken accidentally under a streetlight."

Mr. Yoneyama recalls that the test lighting on the 18th did not result in the desired lighting because there was little snowfall. On the following day, 19th, Tsugaru district became a winter type pressure distribution, so heavy snow fell and it was said that it was a challenge again.

Mr. Yoneyama showed the confidence that the picture taken was dyed pink not only on the snow on the branches but also on the frozen moat water, and that the scenery was fantastic as expected. As of 21:00 on December 21, the Twitter posted on the same day has received about 25,000 retweets and about 48,000 likes.

Mr. Yoneyama says, "I'm surprised because it's more spacious than I imagined. I'm glad to hear from locals who want to go back to Hirosaki, the voices of Christmas lights, and the beauty that is different from the illumination in Tokyo."
