    Hirosaki University (Hirosaki Bunkyo-cho) 50th Anniversary Hall Michinoku Hall will hold a special pre-screening of the Japanese-French collaborative film "Swim too much night" set in Tsugaru on January 27, next year.

    It is a joint film by Japanese movie director Kohei Igarashi and French movie director Damien Manivel, and was filmed in the Tsugaru region centering on Hirosaki from mid-January 2017 to the end of February 2017. It is said that the performers were all ordinary people living in Tsugaru and were filmed using a documentary technique.

    The film was officially submitted to the 74th Venice International Film Festival, Horizonti Division, and won the Student Jury Award and the Filmmarks Award at the 18th Tokyo Filmex, as well as at domestic and international film festivals. Theatrical release is scheduled for next spring.

    This is the first screening in Aomori prefecture. On the day of the event, Hirakawa-resident second grader Kogawa Takara and director Igarashi will be on stage.
