The “Kura Cafe”, which is held once a month at the Aomori and Hirakawa warehouses (Kanaya, Hirakawa, TEL 0172-88-5039), will be held on December 22 and 23.

The workshop where an agricultural production corporation, "Green Farm Farmhouse," renovated an empty house. According to the company's representative, Masahiko Sato, there are more than 300 farmhouses in the Hirakawa and Onoe districts (formerly Onoe town), and it is said that they are "buildings that should be preserved for future generations as cultural heritage."

The company aims to brand the "town of farmhouses" by utilizing farmhouses as a local resource. We plan to accept green tourism and walk around the farmhouses. Baking was also started in March 2013 as part of the activity.

Initially, it was mainly for mail order only, but from April 2014, we set a business day of the last Friday and Saturday of each month, and decided to set up a "Kura Cafe", a brand-name over-the-counter sales, and a cafe space. In February of this year, it opened a store at the "Panfesta" held at Hiroro, a complex commercial facility (in front of Hirosaki-shi station), and local events, and the number of repeaters is gradually increasing.

Bread is fermented with the wild yeast "Shirakami Kodama Yeast" using rice flour of "Tsugaru Roman" produced by the company and domestic wheat without using food additives such as oxidizers and preservatives and eggs. Produced by Hiroko Mikami, who holds a bread class in Hirosaki. Mr. Mikami is particular about making handmade curry bread ingredients by cutting potatoes and carrots himself.

The menu changes monthly, making use of seasonal ingredients, but the standard menu is rice bread with rice flour (1/2 loaf = 250 yen), salt bread (200 yen), pizza (1 piece = 180 yen). We also offer non-bread menus such as additive-free jam (70 grams = 300 yen) and rice (10 kilos = 3,100 yen).

Regarding the future, “I want to increase the bread menu,” says Mikami. Mr. Sato says, "I hope you can get interested in the farmhouses in Hirakawa through bread."

Business hours are from 11:00 to 16:00.
