On November 11th, "Art Festival Hirakawa" will be held at "Roadside Station Ikarigaseki" in Hirakawa, Aomori.

The workshop will be held in 3 booths in front of "Tsugaru Seki no Sho" inside the roadside station. Hirakawa-born artist GOMA says, "I created the idea to create an opportunity for Hirakawa citizens to come into contact with art and to inspire them through art."

Seven booths will open at the booth entitled "Meat Festival", offering meat dishes such as meat suckers, lamb skewers, yakitori, jerk chicken, and retro pork sausage.

At the booth called "Hirakawa Handmade Village," eight sets of artists will sell handmade works such as pottery and kokeshi dolls, as well as workshops for making candles and coloring books for adults.

At the exhibition booth, Shunichi Nakagawa, a member of the operating group "Deadest Neputa", will work on wire art works that utilize the technique of doll Neputa and indirect lighting of Washi paper, as well as art designer PAPICO. , Soko Oka of linen hand-sewn brand KOMO will exhibit her work.

At the venue, four pillar lanterns with a side of 60 cm and a height of 240 cm will be prepared, and 4 artists will perform live art. Kenji Tatashidashi of the executive committee said, “I am looking forward to what kind of work will be finished on the day. From 16 o'clock, the candles made by everyone will be lit, and there will be lighting up of the work. If you can touch it and have fun,” he calls.
