The grand prix of "Mr. Hongdae Contest 2017" was decided on October 29 at Hirosaki University (Bunkyo-cho, Hirosaki City).

This contest was held along with the miss contest as an official event of the university's "Comprehensive Cultural Festival". The entrants who have done a lot of publicity activities in the school during the three-day school festival and won many votes, including the general public, will be the grand prix.

Yuki Sumiyoshi, a freshman in the Faculty of Humanities, is the youngest of the entries. “I wanted to stand out,” Sumiyoshi said. He currently belongs to a baseball circle and his position is pitcher. Although he was opposed to the participation by the surroundings, he pushed through the opposition and participated. "I want to prove that even a first-year student can win the championship," he said with enthusiasm.

Yuta Higashi is a graduate student of the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences and belongs to the Handball Club. "I'm a herbivorous boy and very vulnerable to alcohol," said the recommender. Mr. Higashi said, “I enviously entered a friend who won the Grand Prix at last year's Mr. Con.”

Junjiro Yamada, a third-year student in the Faculty of Humanities, belongs to the a cappella circle. I worked in a hotel in Izu during the summer vacation this year and went to Ishigaki Island, so I appealed for my tanned body. Appearing in a sleeveless navel-like outfit, she shows her willingness to push her favorite banana, song and muscle.

Toshikazu Karushi is a third year student in the Faculty of Education and serves as the director of the handball club. I admire Yukio Ono, who won the grand prix last year. "I will participate with the expectations of the members. I will only be energetic, but I want to aim for the grand prix," enthusiasm.

Yuki Kubota is a fourth-year student in the Department of Health Sciences from the Hokkaido University. He said that he participated in making last memories of college life. Belonging to a baseball club, my favorite baseball player is Atsushi Inaba, a former Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters. “I would like to earn a general vote in the stage performance by dressing up as a magician or an anime character.”

Kubota won the Grand Prix. I recall that when I entered the contest, I thought that the first thing I wanted to do was to have people who enjoy watching it enjoy it. "I honestly didn't think I could win the prize, so I'm really surprised at the moment. I want to thank everyone for their support," Kubota said. "It's important for the people who aim to become Mr. Miss and the next year's Hongdae Festival, and enjoy themselves without being overwhelmed."
