    A Japanese restaurant "Sashima" (Fujisaki-cho, Minamitsugaru-gun, TEL 0172-68-3212) relocated to Aomori/Fujisaki on September 25th.

The same store opened in Hyakuseki-cho, Hirosaki City for 23 years. The store was temporarily closed in July this year, and was moved to a location near the office of Fujisaki Town, where the owner, Katsuyuki Sato, was born. "I've always wanted to have a store locally. I've fulfilled my dream for 40 years," he said.

After graduating from high school, Sato moved to Tokyo, yearning for a sushi chef. After returning to his hometown, he worked at sushi shops in Ginza and Shibuya, and after returning home, he worked at the sushi shop "Achara", which used to be open before the move. "Sajima" was opened when the store closed.

Initially it was open only at night, but due to fewer reservations for banquets, lunch started about 10 years ago. The popular 700-yen lunch, which has a large volume and high cost performance, is offered for 1,000 yen. "I increased the price due to the high purchase price, but I increased the number of products and made it a volume that satisfies me," he says with confidence.

The store area is 100 tsubo and the number of seats is 40. The relocation store is a multi-purpose commercial store where four stores such as taverns and snacks were operating, and Mr. Sato operates in one building.

The lunch menu offers a total of 6 types of "Sajima's lunch" (1,000 yen) including a leaflet set and a tempura set. In addition to preparing single dishes such as salad (500 yen), whale bacon (1,000 yen), tempura platter (1,300 yen), banquet dishes (2,500 yen and up) are accepted by reservation from 2 people. We also offer an all-you-can-drink (1,500 yen) and a drink menu with local sake.

Two weeks have passed since the relocation, and Mr. Sato smiles and is happy to see former regular customers and local classmates visiting. “We don't do any advertising or publicity. To that end, we want to offer as many dishes as possible to satisfy our customers.”

Business hours are from 11:30 to 13:30 and from 17:00 to 21:30. Closed on Sundays.
