    Hirosaki's café, “Meeting House indriya” (Hirosaki City, Kasami-cho, TEL 0172-34-6858) celebrated its 5th anniversary on October 7.

    The concept is "a 21st century meeting place with a cafe". There will be a veggie cafe that mainly serves dishes using vegetables from Aomori Prefecture, and a meeting place that holds classes and events such as yoga and Tsugaru kogin sashimi workshops.

    The owner, Akiko Onishi, is a former high school teacher. He opened his store after 21 years of teaching since he wanted to create a place where people of all ages can gather, valuing relationships with other people.

    Mr. Onishi said, “I didn't intend to quit my teacher at the beginning, but as the project progressed, I thought that I could do only what I wanted to do, so I thought about it. There is no difference in contacting with."

    The menu includes "Weekly Beji rice" (880 yen, with drink = 980 yen, with dessert = 1,240 yen), which includes threshed rice and 8 or more side dishes, as well as "Beji" using Okara konjak. Prepare "Stroganoff" (880 yen), homemade jam toast (550 yen), and cereal pancake (680 yen). The drink menu includes coffee (420 yen) and cafe au lait (480 yen). Regarding the food menu, he consults with a dietitian to consider nutritional balance, and focuses on vegetables that do not use meat or fish, domestic production, no pesticides, and no additives.

    Regarding the meeting place, Mr. Onishi said, “It is not a rental space but a place to plan and carry out bring-in plans together and interact with people.     “I was surprised to see it in five years,” said Mr Onishi. "I've had some hard times, but I like people and I'm interested in people, so I'm happy with all of the hardships and happiness.
