"Tsugaru Onoe Onsen Fukuya" (Hirakawa City Shinyamachi Michinoshita, TEL 0172-55-0200) is currently working on a commercial project for "blue millet rice" at the cloud funding site "Makuake".

According to the owner, Kiyoto Mizuguchi, the project started with a joke about "Let's make blue millet rice because it's Aomori." When we asked for financial support for product development from September 14, we achieved the target amount of 200,000 yen in 2 hours. Currently, 620,000 yen is collected, which is more than 300% of the target amount.

Add Aomori Prefecture rice cake and Takakibi, dried Maitake mushrooms and Tsugaru area's native hair bean, and mix with edible Aomori Ai and Thai Anchan (butterfly pea) to make them blue. Mr. Mizuguchi is confident that "blue millet rice is probably the first in the world."

“There are limits to the business of hot springs alone. We needed to challenge not only domestically but also the world,” says Mizuguchi. We opened an online shop in April this year to sell products focused on Aomori Prefecture. Among them, millet rice "Aomori Shichifukujin millet" became a hit product that sold about 1,000 pieces in two months, and this product was developed to create a topic.

"In the beginning, I thought that if you make it blue, it will reduce your appetite and lead to a diet, but it seems that you can eat it as a way to make meals such as character lunches and decorations fun. Either way, I would be happy if Aomori could be talked about." ..

Regarding the future, Mr. Mizuguchi is enthusiastic, saying "I want to send Aomori to the blue millet rice after November, after shipping it to the supporters as a return product, and selling it as a product."
