Ryuichi Yoneyama, a community-based cooperation team based in the Soma area of Hirosaki City (formerly Soma Village), is currently looking for supporters for the light-up project to be held this winter in Hirosaki Park.
Mr. Yoneyama, who has been involved in the activities of the Japan Cooperation Corps since 2015, is from Kanagawa prefecture. After becoming engrossed in Hirosaki, who learned that he had traveled, he quit his job as a company employee and moved to Japan.
The photo was taken in Hirosaki Park at night in mid-February 2016. "When I photographed the outer moat under a pinkish streetlight, the snow on the cherry trees looked like cherry blossoms," says Yoneyama. When published on SNS, there was a reaction from inside and outside the prefecture, and it was said that it was sometimes adopted by Hirosaki City as a photo for tourism PR.
The cherry blossoms in Hirosaki Park are said to be the best in Japan, and they are one of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in Japan. Since it is in full bloom during Golden Week, many tourists from all over the country have come to visit it. In recent years, there are "Hanaikada," where the petals of cherry blossoms float on the surface of the moat, and the branches of cherry blossoms that have been pruned into hearts. Is also attracting attention.
Mr. Yoneyama launched a winter light-up project in Hirosaki Park on September 1 through the crowdfunding site "CAMPFIRE" and started to raise 300,000 yen. Mr. Yoneyama said, “We can support a small amount, so many people can support us. We will be able to support a lot if we exceed the target amount in the future. It will be used as the funding for the year's implementation."
“In Hirosaki, there are tourist contents such as cherry blossoms in spring, Neputa in summer, and autumn leaves in autumn, but in winter, the number of tourists decreases due to the influence of snow. On the contrary, snow can also be used as tourist content in winter. Enthusiasm.
