On August 11th, the "LIGHT UP NIPPON 2017" will be held at a special venue across from the seaside station Wand (Ajigasawa-cho Honmachi) in Aomori and Ajigasawa.

Since 2011, Light-up Nippon has been co-sponsored every year on August 11 at more than 10 locations around the disaster-stricken area, with the theme of "Tohoku, Japan, fireworks and energy". It will be held at 21 locations in 14 prefectures, including special events. This is the first time Aomori has held.

For the event, Mr. Takuya Yamashina from Hirosaki, who is from Hirosaki and is the executive committee of the LIGHT UP NIPPON, made an effort to make it a local event. Mr. Yamashina said, "I have held in Iwate, Fukushima, Miyagi and the disaster areas in Tohoku, but I could not hold it in Aomori as the same disaster area. I wanted to hold this year and started moving from April. I felt the goodness of a chain of local connections with them and the bond with my classmates who want to improve their local community."

During the festival, there will be a store for gourmet festivals, a special exhibition of the traditional festival "Shirahachimangu Grand Festival" festival floats, and night float service after the fireworks. The festival, which is designated as an intangible cultural property of the town, is held once every four years and has a history of more than 300 years, and is also called the "Tsugaru Kyoto Festival". This year is the year of the event, which is held from August 14th to 16th.

On the same day, 500 fireworks will be launched. The first 3 minutes will be held together with other venues with a prayer of memorial service to the fireworks that match the official theme song "Aka Dragonfly" arranged and performed by Ryuichi Sakamoto.

Holding time is from 15:00 to 20:30. Fireworks will be launched at 19:30.
