"Paddle Festival in Tsugaru Shirakami Lake" will be held on August 11th at Tsugaru Shirakami Lake Park (Nishimeya-mura, Nakatsugaru-gun).

This event was planned to get people familiar with paddle sports such as canoeing and stand-up paddles. At Nishimeya Village, the gateway to the Shirakami Mountains, a world natural heritage, we will utilize the Tsugaru Shirakami Lake, a dam lake of the Tsugaru Dam completed last year.

On the day of the event, in addition to a canoe clinic and a canoe/raft boat experience session by Olympic athlete Tsubasa Sasaki, a maximum of four people can try a rough trace and a kayak race. An outdoor life specialty store "Green House" (Aomori City) will open in the venue to sell outdoor goods. There will also be an eating and drinking booth where you can prepare specially made syrup shaved ice and apple juice, and an exhibition and sale of handmade wood products.

Akira Kidate, the Aomori Prefectural Canoe Association, said, “It is a rare opportunity for experienced people to receive guidance from Olympic athletes as a place for beginners to feel free to experience paddle sports. Call for participation."

Holding time is from 8:30 to 15:00. free entrance. Participation fee is required for some experiences.
