On June 18, the literary translator Toshiya Echizen will hold a lecture entitled "Hundred Views of Translation, a Bridge of Culture that connects Japan and the World" at the Hirosaki City Library (Shimohiragincho, Hirosaki City).

Echizen is in charge of translating the Japanese version of Dan Brown's best-selling novel "Da Vinci Code" series (Kadokawa Shoten). Taking advantage of the opportunity to visit Hirosaki as a guest of the 3rd Hirosaki Translation Mystery Reading Group, which was held on the day before the lecture, the reading group came to Hirosaki Pen Club to reach the event.

The theme of the lecture was born from the history of Echizen-san, who graduated from the Faculty of Letters at the University of Tokyo and has worked as a cram school administrator and a prep school lecturer, how he put himself into the translation industry, the story behind the publishing industry, and the cultural differences between English and Japanese.
