On May 20, at Hirosaki Castle Honmaru (Shimohiragincho, Hirosaki), we observed "Diamond Iwaki" where the setting sun overlaps the top of Iwaki.

“Diamond Iwaki” is similar to “Diamond Fuji” where you can see the shining diamonds at the moment when the sun overlaps the top of Mt. Fuji, and you can catch the same phenomenon at Mt. Iwaki called “Tsugaru Fuji”. A phenomenon named by lovers.

Hirosaki Castle Tower is currently moved to the center of Honmaru, about 70 meters from its original position, for repairing the stone wall once every 100 years. It was only during this period that you could see the castle tower of Hirosaki Castle against the backdrop of Mt. Iwaki Diamond, and local enthusiasts pointed their cameras on the observation deck.
