At the Starbucks Coffee Hirosaki Park store (Kamishirogincho, Hirosaki City), a welcome sign for Tsugaru Kogin Sashi, which is handmade by the staff, is currently installed.

According to the Hirosaki Sakura Festival, the staff said he was good at Tsugaru kogin sashimi to offer hospitality unique to the store, the same sign. The 17 sleeves made from Tsugaru kogin embroidery are embroidered with the letters "WELCOME TO HIROSAKI" and the design of apples and coffee beans.

Tsugaru kogin sashimi is one of the traditional crafts that has been passed down in the Tsugaru region. It is a handicraft technique in which the warp threads are stabbed in odd numbers in the texture of the cloth. In the past, it played a role of protecting against the cold, but nowadays it is used as an accent for small items such as pouches and pocketbooks, and it is gaining popularity mainly among women.

All the staff of the store participated in the sleeve production, and it took about a month to complete the sleeve. "I would like to encourage the tourists who visit the Sakura Festival to learn about the traditional culture of Hirosaki called Tsugaru kogin sashimi, and revitalize the area," said Kenichiro Takahashi, store manager of the store.

The store utilizes the former Commissioner of the 8th Division, which was built during the Taisho era, and the interior is decorated with traditional crafts, and there is also a chaise lounge featuring Tsugaru kogin sashimi. Mr. Takahashi smiles, saying, "During the Sakura Festival, the staff wears a bow tie worn by the staff with Tsugaru kogin stabs."

Business hours are from 7:00 to 21:00. The Tsugaru kogin stab sleeves will be installed until May 7.
