A large fan Neputa will be exhibited next to the castle tower of Hirosaki Castle at the opening ceremony of the "Hirosaki Sakura Festival" held on April 22 at Hirosaki Park (Shimohiragincho, Hirosaki City).

The Neputa on display is 7 meters high and 80 cm high, and the artist is Tooru Miura. On the day of the opening ceremony of the "Hirosaki Sakura Festival", which will be in its 100th year, Mayor Norihiro Kasai proposed a project to install a neputa next to the castle tower on the day of the opening ceremony. It was implemented in collaboration with the City's Tourism Policy Division and the Hirosaki Neputa Participating Group Council.

The new Neputa, which has adopted a new structure, has been able to be reduced in size to 3 meters and 30 centimeters when transported. Large-sized Neputa, which was previously impossible to transport, is now expected to contribute to the promotion of Neputa nationwide because it can be mounted on a trailer and transported anywhere in the country.

On the night of the 20th, the same Neputa was transported from the JA 1000 year first apple center (Ichino Watari), which was the production site, to Hirosaki Park Otemon by the council officials and city hall staff, and towed next to the main castle tower manually.

Regarding the exhibition, Shunichi Nakagawa, the secretary general of the council, said, "In the limited time, we were able to cross the boundaries of various Neputa groups and work together to realize the project. We must have shared the sense of unity that is essential for development."

The co-starring of the castle tower and the large Neputa will be announced at the opening ceremony starting at 10:45 on the same day. Visitors wearing Neputa Hanten by 10:30 can participate in the opening ceremony free of charge.

The exhibition is only on the 22nd.
