It has been a month since the opening of a select shop "zakka Lighthouse" (Matsumori Town, Hirosaki City, TEL 0172-55-8966) that handles miscellaneous goods ordered from welfare facilities nationwide in Hirosaki and Matsumori Town.

The store has more than 250 kinds of miscellaneous goods such as accessories, bags and accessories. “The specialty stores that sell miscellaneous goods made at welfare facilities are rare in Aomori Prefecture and Tohoku,” says Honami Fujimaki, the store manager and buyer.

Mr. Fujimaki says he researches miscellaneous goods on the Internet, visits the welfare facilities that he is making as much as possible, and observes the site where the products are made. The origin of the store name is that most of the miscellaneous goods we handle are made by hand, and there are also many one-of-a-kind items, and there is no lighthouse in the world.

Mr. Fujimaki said he had an opportunity to open the store because he wrote a graduation thesis while enrolling at Aomori Prefectural University of Health (Aomori City) with the theme of expanding the work area of people with disabilities who cut off miscellaneous goods. In opening the store, we also received advice from the specialized general store “Majerka” (Musashino City, Tokyo), which opened nationwide.

Mr. Fujimaki said, "The products "made by people with disabilities" are often the only things that are close-up. I want many people to know the goodness of the products. Our store is located in Aomori. I want to expand the meaning and meaning of what I have done within myself and reflect it in the store."

Business hours are from 11:00 to 19:00 (until 18:00 on Saturdays and Sundays). Closed on Wednesdays.
