On February 22, Hirosaki University Tokyo Alumni Association revealed that it has a "phantom movie" video of movie director Kiyojun Suzuki, a former graduate of Hirosaki High School (now Hirosaki University) who died on February 13th.

Known for his masterpieces such as "The Mark of Slaughter," "Tsigoiner Weizen," and "Yumeji," Mr. Suzuki has a history of receiving the Special Jury Prize at the Berlin International Film Festival. Born in Tokyo in 1923, he spent his student life in Hirosaki between 1941 and 1948.

Ryoji Tsuda, President of the Tokyo Alumni Association of Hirosaki University, said, "I am sorry that I died before I met Mr. Suzuki. Currently, I manage the movie video of Mr. Suzuki's movie "Hiraka Youth Story" which was released in theaters in 2003. It is a non-sale item that was distributed only to those involved in the former Hirosaki High School Alumni Association, and is now a phantom work that can only be seen in videos."

According to Mr. Tsuda, this work, which was produced by the former Hirosaki High School Alumni Association in 1992, was filmed in Hirosaki and appeared in Hirosaki Park and the former Hirosaki Kyosha. He heard the episodes from graduates and scattered dorm songs from the Kita Dormitory everywhere in the play, which is said to reflect the memories of the students at that time.

Mr. Tsuda says, "I look back every few years. It's a director-like work depicting Hirosaki at that time. The feelings for Hirosaki are drawn deeply with cherry blossoms and ghosts as motifs."

The work can be viewed at Hirosaki University Library (banned).
