"Tsugaru Snow Rugby" was held on February 4th and 5th at Hirosaki Sports Park (Toyota Hirosaki).

This is the 51st event this year. At the beginning of the launch, it was held so that it could be practiced even on snow in the winter, but in recent years it has been held to expand the rugby population and spread the appeal of rugby. Ambassadors of Rugby World Cup 2019 have been invited as guests since 2014, and they are also working on the promotion activities of rugby.

On the 4th, a talk event was held at Hotel New Castle (Kamisashishi-cho, Hirosaki City). In addition to Tsutomu Matsuda who has participated in the World Cup at Ambassador for three consecutive games and Daisuke Ohata who has entered the 131st World Rugby Hall of Fame worldwide, Yuji Matsubara belonging to the Kamaishi Seawaves RFC and the oldest active Active players such as player Takeomi Ito also participated. He talked about why he started rugby, episodes during his active career, and answered questions from the venue.

On the 5th, four guests also participated in snow rugby and played against children. There was also a scene where laughter occurred from the venue as the legends chased and attacked the children. Mr. Ohata says, "It's very attractive to be able to send out rugby in the northernmost area of Honshu by making the most of the characteristics of the area."

After the tournament, the chairman of the tournament, Hayao Kikuchi, concludes with a closing ceremony, "It is unusual for us to be able to hold the event for two days thanks to the weather. We will meet again next year."
