On December 18, a fried chicken specialty store "Marumiya" (Sakaemachi, Hirosaki City) opened in a residential area in Sakaemachi, Hirosaki City.

The store is run by Masami Miyagawa, who once managed the yakitori restaurant “Kakumi” (Kichijoji Honmachi, Musashino City) in Tokyo. The main menu is "Karaage" and "Kushikatsu", which Miyagawa's children prefer to eat.

Mr. Miyagawa is the younger brother of the founder of the well-established department store "Kakuwa Miyagawa" in Hirosaki, and has Tomitaro Miyagawa of "Kakumi kimono store," which was the origin of Kakamikoji, as his great-grandfather. The yakitori restaurant "Kakumi" was named after the name of the kimono store and used the signboard of the kimono store. He returned to Hirosaki in 2011 and is currently working as an employee at an equipment construction company.

Mr. Miyagawa said, "I was really thinking of leaving the company and opening a yakitori restaurant, but it was stopped when I told the company that I would resign. I was allowed to have a side business, so I restrained the opening fund and fried restaurants. Has opened."

The store was built little by little over three months. “My current job was useful,” says Miyagawa. All the water equipment was installed by himself, and the signboards on the shop used work gloves and Mr. Miyagawa himself drew a circle in the characters "Marumiya" and "Miya." "I expressed my thoughts in letters," he exclaimed.

The menu is "karaage", 3 types of bite-sized skewer cutlet "Puchikatsu" chicken, chicken and quail eggs, chicken and onions (50 yen or more). “The garlic from Aomori prefecture used for the menu of the store has a different scent. We crush and use each one,” says Miyagawa.

"Since I was building a store, I have had my neighbors interested in me. I haven't advertised it, but the number of customers is gradually increasing through reviews. I was happy that I was able to open a fried chicken shop. I would like to start a yakitori restaurant in Hirosaki someday."

Business hours are from 11:00 to 18:00. Open only on Saturday and Sunday.
