The fifth volume of the cartoon "Flying Witch" (Kodansha) set in Aomori/Hirosaki will be released on November 9.

A 15-year-old witch, Makoto Kohata, who moved from Yokohama to Aomori, depicts the everyday life with her relatives. It was serialized in "Separate Volume Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha), and will be animated into Nippon TV series this spring. At this year's Hirosaki Neputa, the Neputa Contest for floats with the motif of the same work was also held.

In Volume 5, you can see the life of the witch and the growth of the protagonists. Chihiro Ishizuka, the author of this work while living in Hirosaki, commented, "I was able to draw a picture of the changing seasons of Hirosaki. I hope that you enjoy not only the story, but that kind of thing as well."

The cover will be an illustration with the hero's classmate, Nao Ishiwatari, behind the Ishiba House (Kamekocho, Hirosaki City), which is the model of his home. Shintaro Kawabobo, the editor, said, “I made it because Mr. Ishizuka liked the atmosphere of wooden structures and wanted to express it in a picture.”

Kinokuniya Bookstore Hirosaki store (Dote-cho) will set up a special venue in the store from November 10 to display 5 color reproduction originals such as cover illustrations and the original 10-page reproduction of the 5th volume. Until December 11th.
