Seki Clinic Nakatsugaru Clinic (Kata, Hirosaki City) celebrated its 25th anniversary on October 16.

Clinic Shuichi Seki was born in Chiba prefecture and grew up in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo. I was invited by a nurse from Aomori who was in the same workplace and helped with the medical treatment in Imabetsu-cho, Aomori for about 10 months in 1987 (Showa 62). He opened a clinic in the same area of the former Iwaki Town.

It was said that there was opposition from the surroundings when opening the building. Mr. Seki said, "I was worried that no patients would come, but on the first day, 13 people visited, and after that, the number increased by 10 per day."

Looking back over 25 years, Mr. Seki shows a smile as he made many mistakes at the Tsugaru dialect. "It took me four years to understand the Tsugaru dialect TV commercial. Many patients pointed out that I couldn't hear the teacher's standard language," he said, saying it faster than that. ..

"Why did you want to start a doctor in such an inconvenient countryside?" Mr. Seki says, "This is the same as Setagaya. There are many inconvenient places in Setagaya."

"It's a charming place where a British writer, Alan Booth, who is known for his travels, publishes a travel journal called "Tsugaru." Since BC, our ancestors have already lived in Tsugaru, and ruins remain. I want you to notice the wonderfulness of living on a land with a long history."

Seki is now 68 years old. Shows motivation to continue clinic until age 75. “In the past 10 years, the level of food and culture in Hirosaki has risen, and the number of interesting people has increased. I don't really think about returning to Kanto. I want to continue living in Hirosaki until the end.”
