"Miss Hongdae Contest 2016" was held on October 24th at Hirosaki University Bunkyo Campus (Bunkyo-cho, Hirosaki City).

Hirosaki University General Cultural Festival held from 22nd to 3rd. The Miscon, which will be held as an eye-catching event, will be decided by the number of votes of the general participants, which will be appealed by the entrants throughout the three days.

This year, Ayana Aonuma from Miyagi in the 3rd year of the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Saaya Mori from Aomori who was born in Hachinohe in 1st year of the School of Medicine, and Yumiko Sugawara from Miyagi in the 4th year of the Faculty of Humanities and people. Aimi Yashima from Hirosaki, who was in the third year of the Faculty of Literature, entered four entries.

Aimi Yashima was selected as the grand prix. He recalled that his stomach hurts at the beginning due to pressure and anxiety, and he said, "The school festival began and I got confident and cheered as I cheered. The last day I could enjoy the school festival to the fullest. I'm done" and shows a smile.

Mr. Yashima was in charge of the cover gravure for the campus public relations magazine "SCENE", which was launched in September, and got first place in the interim presentation on the first and second days. Speaking of special skills, he said that he is involved in the regional development of Inakadate Village, which is adjacent to Hirosaki, and talks with Luffy, the main character of the manga “One Piece”.

“There was a strange pride that I wanted to aim for the grand prix as a local student at a local university. As a result of self-appealing with apples, challenging dominant apples and trial and error, it seems that the local people cheered up a lot I feel."
