On October 2, Hirosaki Park Hotel (Hirosaki-shi, Dote-cho) will hold an event "Yojiro Ishizaka's dream of youth" 30 years after the death of novelist Yojiro Ishizaka from Hirosaki.

Born in Daikanmachi, Hirosaki City in 1900, Ishizaka wrote the novel "Going to see the sea" while working as a teacher at Hirosaki High School for Girls (now Hirosaki Chuo High School). After the war, in 1947 (Showa 22), the representative work "Blue Mountains" was announced, and the work was made into many movies and TV dramas.

There are two parts on the day. In the first part, Mr. Hideo Nagabe, a Hiroki-born artist and Naoki Prize-winner, will give a lecture on the theme of "Yojiro Ishizaka and Japanese youth." According to Ms. Masamasa Saito of the Hirosaki Pen Club, who sponsors the event, "Mr. Nagabe's lecture sponsored by this society has been at the event for 10 years since his death."

In the second part, a movie "Young People" starring Yujiro Ishihara and Sayuri Yoshinaga in the original work by Mr. Ishizaka will be shown on a 35 mm film. Saito says, "The "Enami Keiko" that Mr. Yoshinaga plays has many points in common with the woman drawn by Haruki Murakami. If you appreciate it compared to the present age."

On the 7th, which is the anniversary of death, a "Memorial for Yojiro Ishizaka" will be held at Teishoji Temple (Shinjimachi). Membership fee = 500 yen. Please contact the secretariat of the association (TEL 0172-36-8858). The application deadline is October 4.

Saito said, “Hirosaki has a culture in which the next generation inherits the culture and literature in honor of the achievements of its seniors. If we can review the achievements of our seniors through this event and pass it on to the next generation. I want you to come".

The holding time is 1 part = 14:00 ~, 2 parts = 15:45 ~. Admission is 500 yen for adults and free for high school students and younger.
