The honey sweets shop “BeFavo” in Nishimeya-mura, Aomori Prefecture, started collecting honey, and this year's sales of natural honey began. It sells honey that can be harvested from birdhouses installed on the roof of the store.

There are many rare species of flowers in the Shirakami Mountains, a World Natural Heritage Site, so there are many precious honeys that can only be harvested in the village. Honey has different colors, scents, and tastes depending on the type of flower, and nutrients are different. Mr. Takako Yonezawa, the manager, said, "It's 100% natural, fully-ripened honey with a sugar content of 80." From 14th May, this year's honey has been harvested, and now it is honey centered on apple and acacia flowers.

Yonezawa says, “Because the types of flowers that are collected vary depending on the season, we would like you to come and visit us again and enjoy the different flavors of honey at Nishimeya.” In addition to selling honey, the store also has a cafe space that serves soft serve ice cream and handmade waffles. There is also a service to eat honey over soft serve ice cream, which has been a hot topic since it opened last year.

Honey is harvested approximately every two weeks and will continue until around September. Since the amount that can be taken at one time is limited, it may be out of stock. "Please contact us before you come".

Business hours are from 9:00 to 17:00. Honey is sold only in stores.
