At the Narumi Kaname Memorial Ceramics Museum Gallery (Kada, Hirosaki City), a photo exhibition "Road Observation Photo Exhibition Tsugaru Edition" is currently being held by Aoki and Hirakawa resident artist Motoki Keima.

This exhibition features a series of photographic works by Mr. Keima, who has taken pictures of the scenery from the streets of the Tsugaru area for about 40 years. Regarding the motivation for starting shooting, Mr. Keima said, "Traditional and historical buildings are properly preserved, but everyday landscapes and buildings are gradually disappearing. I wanted to leave them as photographs at least." speak.

In 2006, a similar photo exhibition was held once at Tanakaya Gallery (Motoji-cho), and this time it was held at the invitation of the Narumi Kaname Memorial Ceramics Museum. "We hold some kind of exhibition every year, and in the past, we exhibited only pebbles collected on the beach and exhibited old cartoons and rare old books," he said.

In addition to the 200 pieces of photo work on the panel, an album containing more than 7,000 pictures is exhibited in the hall. Each album has its own theme, and it is a compilation of photographic works such as "Horow signboard" and "Fire no Yagura", which are now rarely seen, "Facing property" and "Wrong notes" due to the arrangement of window glass.

Mr. Keima says, "There are some arts that are not taken into consideration in everyday scenery." "For example, there are objects in the city that resemble the work of Yoshishige Saito, one of Japan's leading modeling artists. I think there is a way to enjoy the scenery of old times, but these photographs are similar to contemporary art. I want young people to see it as well."

Holding time is from 9:00 to 16:00. The last day is until 15:00. Closed on June 21st. Free admission. Until June 26th.
