The former system Hirosaki High School Foreign Teachers' Hall in Hirosaki University Bunkyo Campus (Bunkyo-cho, Hirosaki City) will be renovated and the "Hongdae Cafe" will open on June 19.

"Hirosaki Coffee School" (Hirosaki City Tohoku), which operates the "Narita Senzo Coffee Shop", opens. The former Hirosaki High School Foreign Teachers' House is a Western-style wooden building on the second floor of a wooden building built in 1925 (Taisho 14) and is designated as a nationally registered tangible cultural property. The site was relocated and restored in 2004, and was open to the public as a museum until last year.

The owner, Mr. Nemita, has run a coffee shop for more than 40 years and is the first person to establish a coffee culture in the city, including initiatives such as "Hirosaki, the coffee town" and "Coffee's coffee". "In a diversifying coffee culture that makes it easy to drink at convenience stores, I remembered that I wanted college students and residents in the neighborhood to know more about the flavor of coffee that they put in their hearts," he said.

Unlike the Joto store, which specializes in nel drip, the store will have a menu of cafe latte and espresso, as well as a lunch menu. Student discount service will also be introduced. The number of seats is about 50, both in the hall and on the open terrace with the literary monument of Osamu Dazai.

On the first day of the opening, a performance by Yuka Ito, a dancer from Aomori, will be held from 10 o'clock, a reading session of Osamu Dazai's work, a performance and coffee behavior by the coffee unit "Red Fruit" will be scheduled.

Mr. Narita calls, "We do not offer a regular menu on the day of opening, and we will serve coffee for free so please visit us."

Business hours are from 10:00 to 19:00. Closed on Sundays.
