On May 22, a music event "Mountain ROCK" will be held at a special stage of the Iwakiyama Tourist Association parking lot (Hirosaki City Hyakusawa).

This is an event where local indie bands and artists with connections to Aomori appear and enjoy music at outdoor venues. It will start in 2011 and will be the 6th time. Shoichi Narita, who is a member of the rock band "creeps" that appears every year and who is one of the organizers from this time, says, "We are starting to take root in the locals to ask questions such as "When are you gonna do this year?".

This year, a total of 13 pairs will appear, which is the highest number ever. In addition to Mr. Tatetakako, a singer-songwriter from Nagano prefecture who has been performing for 6 consecutive years, it is formed by members of the same singer-songwriter Sosuke Koyamauchi who is active both inside and outside the prefecture, and members of the Hirosaki University Jazz Study Group. The band "Cissy Strut", the rock band "warugaki", which released the first full album "Kimi to Mita Sekai" in March this year, and the copy band "Hirosaki Riot" of "the clash" made their first appearances. "66 Band" will be an oldies band led by Mr. Hiroshi Saito, the organizer of the event and one of the organizers.

A food booth will also open on the day. ANEKKO offers Miyaki's sweets and yakitori, and there are also shops that offer boiled eggs and deer. At the Iwaki Tourist Information Center inside the venue, in addition to offering regular menus such as curry and bowls, the new design of "Iwakiyama Skinnanda T-shirt" (2,700 yen) in 2016 will be announced on the same day and will be sold.

“The biggest challenge for outdoor events is the weather, but it's sunny every year. It should be sunny this year,” says Narita.
