From April 17th, a dollhouse exhibition for a limited time at the Sakura Festival began at Hirosaki's clothing store, “Living Clothing Storm” (Hirosaki City, Dote Town).

"Doll house" is a model house made at a certain scale, which began as a toy for children in Europe in the 16th century. In addition to learning about family life and lifestyle through play with children, they are now attracting attention as rehabilitation items for the elderly.

About 30 doll houses are on display, including the Showa series, which recreates the retro shops of the 1955's, and the Kaido series, which recreates traditional Japanese houses.

Toyoichiro Sudo, the third-generation store owner, said, ``I need to change the stock of clothing every season, but the dollhouse can be placed in the store throughout the year.If you line up the finished products, the appearance will be gorgeous, It leads to activation."

The store is a long-established store founded in 1917 (Taisho 6). Mr. Sudo's grandfather expanded his business in Katata-cho and Ekimae-cho in the city and managed shoe stores and bag stores depending on the times. It was 65 years ago that I opened a store in Dotemachi. It was said that Toyoichiro was in the sixth grade of elementary school.

"The bank town at the time was a lively and fashionable city for citizens. It felt like a dream for children. I wanted to recreate the atmosphere of that time," he said.

A chaise lounge is installed at the store, and it is also a place to rest on the way for citizens and tourists who pass through the bank of the bank of the town. “We provide coffee for free. I'd be happy if we could have a chat while watching the dollhouse,” says Mr. Sudo.

“In the old days, the bank town was not just a place to go to buy something, but a place where people gathered naturally and had a friendly and friendly exchange. I will continue to seek what I can do to bring back such an atmosphere. I want to continue."

Business hours are from 9:00 to 18:30. Exhibition until May 7th.
