The restaurant "Hanaringo" in Owani-cho, Aomori Prefecture is currently offering "Tekona udon" using local ingredients such as "Owani-onsen sprouts" for a limited time only during the "Azalea Festival". ..

The store is a restaurant that operates within the hot spring facility "Wanicome" in the town. Tekona Udon is a udon noodle from the well-established noodle shop in the town, Fujita noodle shop, with Aomori Shamorock and Owani Onsen sprouts spicy stir-fried and soft-boiled eggs. In addition, Owani Onsen sprouts with miso soup with bean sprouts and rice balls with pickled plums, homemade oshi and apple sherbet are included, and the price is 980 yen.

Owani Onsen Sprout refers to the bean sprouts cultivated using the hot spring water that springs in Owani, as its name suggests, and has a history of more than 350 years from the Edo period. The raw material is "Kohachimame", which is a local species, and unlike the conventional bean sprouts of hydroponics, it is traditionally grown in soil. In addition to being used to increase geothermal heat, hot spring water is used in all processes from washing to finishing. Registered as a regional collective trademark in 2012, it has become a brand-name ingredient representing the town.

Toshishi Shibuya (38), who is from Owani-machi and works at a hotel in Hirosaki city, said, “Owani-onsen sprouts are a traditional vegetable in the town. It's like tasting the crocodile itself. I hope everyone who visits the Azalea Festival will come to eat it. "

The origin of the menu name, Tekona Udon, is named after Masuda Tekona (1897-1993), a doctor and haiku from the same town (formerly Minamitsugaru-Kuradatemura). Tegona was a master of modern haiku, Kyoko Takahama, and left many outstanding works. There are several stone monuments inscribed with Tekona's poems in the Chausuyama Park at the azalea festival venue. The name of the restaurant "Hana Ringo" is also named after Tekuna's poem.

Business hours for flower apples are from 11:00 to 15:00. The menu also includes ramen, soba, rice bowls (650 to 1100 yen), curry, set meals, and small set meals (820 to 1200 yen).
