    "Gallery Kasaico" (TEL 0172-88-7574) in the Joto district of Hirosaki is currently holding the "Shitsugei of Fujita Shodo and Kagawa".

    This exhibition will be held as a special event for the 5th anniversary of Gallery Kasaico. In addition to about 50 small items such as accessories and tea utensils designed by Mr. Masado Fujita, a lacquer artist from the same city, about 50 items by the representative lacquer artist of Kagawa prefecture will be on sale.

    Mr. Fujita entered the world of lacquer art under the influence of his father, a Tsugaru painter, and learned as a trainee at the Kagawa Prefectural Lacquer Research Institute, and was engaged in the national treasure Masami Isoi. Go home by learning techniques such as kinma and lacquer. He continued his production activities in Hirosaki and received various awards. In 2013, he received the Medal with Purple Ribbon, and said that there are three "Purchased works by the Imperial Household Agency" in the past.

    Mr. Fujita will also be present during the exhibition. "Lacquer is a mysterious material that enriches the heart. I don't have many opportunities to touch lacquer works, so I want people to feel more familiar with them. I want to engage in educational activities as well as activities as a writer." ..

    Ayako Kasai, the owner of the gallery, said, “We had a relationship with Mr. Fujita five years ago when he exhibited at this gallery. It was suggested that Mr. Fujita would like to exhibit as a 5th anniversary project. "The lacquer artist's works that I have introduced along with the exhibition are all gems that I rarely see in Tohoku."
