The Fujita Memorial Garden (Kamishirogincho, Hirosaki City) will be open for free on June 29. It is held every year to make the last Sunday of June free and open for wide use.

The garden adjacent to Hirosaki Park. The Japanese garden, which is about 21,800 square meters (about three times the size of a typical soccer field), is the second largest in the Tohoku region. Normally, an admission fee of 310 yen for adults and 100 yen for elementary and junior high school is required, but it will be free all day on that day.

There are many users because you can freely visit the Western-style building in the park and there is also a cafe space where you can feel the taste of the Taisho era. The garden is divided into a highland area and a lowland area across a cliff. The highland area is a landscape garden with a view of Mt. Iwaki, and the lowland area is a pond excursion garden. A 13-meter-high waterfall runs through the cliffs, and it is not well known by the public.

"It's about time for Hanashobu," said Makoto Maeda, the manager. "The charm of this garden is that you can enjoy the flowers of the four seasons. Please take this opportunity to visit the Japanese garden area." On the same day, we plan various events such as Tsugaru-nuri experience and tree observation by a tree doctor.

Opening hours are from 9am to 5pm.
